Arts in Motion fuels music’s evolution through two primary activities, progressive concert productions and innovative music education programs.

How We Realize Our Mission

1. Progressive concerts fuse traditional, contemporary, and emerging genres with the latest multimedia and electronic music technologies, creating new artistic experiences.  These innovative events fuse classical with hip hop, electronic orchestration, and visual music technology drawing young and diverse audiences to both traditional and progressive venues.  Tickets are rarely priced over $10 and the atmosphere is informal and immersive, often featuring floor to ceiling video projections.  The growing body of commissioned works premiered at these events is also distributed via podcast through our website.  

2. Innovative education programs train young composers and offer program expansion opportunities to trained graduates, providing both artistic exposure and a career path for inner city youth.  Services reach over 1,000 people each year with a growing base of satellite locations in recreation centers and partner facilities in addition to the after school program offered at our center city studio.  Goals include providing exposure and opportunities for advancement in the arts as well as providing career opportunities for program graduates who wish to open new satellite locations in their communities.
